ROYAL MAIL SERVING NOTICE ON CWU AGREEMENTS AND OUR MEMBERS’ TERMS AND CONDITIONS
No: 400/22
10th October 2022
TO: ALL POSTAL BRANCHES
Dear Colleague
ROYAL MAIL SERVING NOTICE ON CWU AGREEMENTS AND OUR MEMBERS’ TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All Branches will be aware of Royal Mail’s letter of the 22nd September, (circulated in LTB 384/22), serving notice on a wide range of CWU agreements, representing the biggest single attack on our members’ terms and conditions in the history of our union.
The purpose of this LTB is to publish the union’s formal response, which can be found in the attached letter to the CEO.
In addition to registering our formal opposition to the entire content of the CEO’s letter, we have also highlighted key areas, which we believe expose the real motives behind the company’s actions.
There is no doubt that all of this is linked directly to the change agenda in our current national disputes.
Please ensure the content of this letter is circulated to our representatives and members and that the major implications on our members’ terms and conditions – in addition to the change agenda we are dealing with in our national disputes – are conveyed in every workplace.
The union are currently consulting with our lawyers on these matters and we will use every industrial and legal route to challenge the company’s position. This will be discussed further at tomorrow’s National Briefing.
Any enquiries should be sent to the GS/(A) DGS (P) departments jdunn@cwu.org/hford@cwu.org.
Yours sincerely
Dave Ward. General Secretary (Postal)
Andy Furey Acting Deputy General Secretary (Postal)
